About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog!

My name is Rachana and I’m a 18 year old writer from Hong Kong. I fall in love with characters from books and endeavour to have fewer existential crises. Sometimes, I’m lost & sad. Sometimes, I’m the girl standing in the rain & laughing up at the sky.

I believe in the magic of creating things. I write poetry, short stories, and YA novels. My poetry has been published in places such as Lockjaw Magazine, Hypertrophic Literary, Diode, and The Blueshift Journal. You can find links to various published poems here. If you’re interested in reading more of my poetry, I invite you to check out my tumblr blog, rupturing. In addition, my work has been recognized by the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards and Hollins University. I was a mentee in The Adroit Journal Summer Mentorship Program in 2016. I currently serve as a poetry editor for TRACK//FOUR, a literary magazine for writers and artists of color. My free time is also spent sleeping and reading.

On this blog, I fangirl about books & discuss writing. You can read my writing updates, book reviews, and various other thingsStay awhile. And if you want to chat, feel free to contact me.

With warmth,

  1. Hi Rachana! I’m not from Hong Kong, but half of my family is from there & I travel to HK every summer to visit my family. I am so excited to meet a blogger from Hong Kong, especially another writer, and I’m looking forwards to reading all your posts! 😊

    1. Hi Zoie! Oh it’s really cool that you have family in HK. Aw that’s really sweet of you! It’s great to meet you too. I’m sorry it took me awhile to respond – I’ve just been a bit busy with college.
